| 13 Days Teslin River Canoeing Expedition |
| The Teslin River |
This canoe trip takes in the entire length of the Teslin River and part of the Yukon River. The Teslin is an easy wilderness river, offering excellent fishing and beautiful landscape. During the spring and early summer month we see Blackbears and calf moose, frozen tributaries and paddle in warm sunny weather. It is definitely not a river for whitewater heroes and adrenalin addicts. But those, searching a relaxing canoeing outing in great surroundings, those who want to take their family and get away from a hectic lifestyle and stress, will be provided with an extraordinary chance to do so. This tour is perfectly suitable for beginners. Necessary skills will be taught before and during the tour. |

| We'll greet you at Whitehorse airport and transfer you to the hotel in downtown location. In the afternoon you have time to explore the many sights and to do the last shopping. In the evening you will meet the group and we will discuss the tour routing. Your guide will introduce himself and gives substantial introduction to wilderness rules and canoeing techniques at the beginning and during the tour. You have plenty of time to organize your gear and adapt to the wilderness setting. |

| The next morning we depart and drive 180 km to the riverside village of Johnson’s Crossing and the Teslin River. We will have ample opportunity to be stunned by what nature has to offer along the highway and quite often we stop to take closer looks at reminders of the goldrush of 1898. After a snack at the shore of the Teslin River we unload our gear and repack it in our canoes. Our guide gives us last instructions and after all gear is stored we say a last good-bye to our driver and will be all to ourselves. For the rest of the day we canoe on the Teslin River. With the day go by we penetrate deeper into the vast wilderness. Senses get tuned and you will notice things that would be totally unimportant otherwise. A little crackle lets you anticipate one of the Yukon's magnificent animals step out of the dense forests cover. You will soon feel part of the Yukon's magic and mystery. |

| Given a steady daily pace, we make sure that you will never feel in a hurry. Often we will just drift with the rivers current and watch the game go by at shore. We discover the canoe as an ideal means of transportation. The river carries us to our destination: seeing the nature, hearing and smelling it. Crackling campfires, roaring creeks, a cow moose with her newborn calf. The sun breaks out and thoroughly saturates us with her warmth. We reach Masons Landing where an old prospector trail starts. This is a welcome opportunity to trade paddles with hiking boots. The rest of the day gets by with a lot of important things to do: fishing and have the sun shine in your face. As both the Teslin and Yukon Rivers were part of the Klondike Gold Rush route north there is much to see relating to the early pioneers that were in the country and on the river in the late 1800’s. During the trip we also visit the abandoned village of Hootalinqua where the Teslin runs into the Yukon River. It comes complete with an abandoned old shipyard complete with a derelict steamboat on the ways. Part of the common experience is everybody's contribution to the daily camp routines. This and the purposely small number of clients in each tour is an ideal basis for a relaxed and unforgettable time. |
|
| 11 |
| Today we reach the Indian village of Carmacks where we get back to Civilization for a short time. We can take showers and go shopping. |
|
| 12 |
| We continue on the Yukon River and get to the mighty “Fiver Finger Rapids” the only rapids on the entire river. With our new skills we accomplish them without problems. Shortly afterwards we reach Tatchum Creek the final destination of our tour. The van will pick us up and we drive back to Whitehorse where we will stay for one more night. For guests who have booked the program extension will continue on to Kathleen Lake. |

| 8 Days Kluane National Park Hiking and Sightseeing Tour |
| 01 - 03 |
| From Whitehorse we drive on the Alaska Highway towards Haines Junction. The Highway offers spectacular mountain vistas with exhibits and viewpoints of Mount Kennedy, Mount Hubbard and peaks in the Icefield Ranges in the interior of the Kluane National Park. In the vicinity of the Donjek River bridge, other peaks in these ranges can be seen - Mount Steele, Mount Wood and Mount Walsh. We drive 20 km south of Haines Junction to beautiful Kathleen Lake where we get settled in our cozy log cabins. From here we daily hike in different directions into the park. You will be astonished with the utterly wild and remarkable country you’re immersed in. Of the many highlights to be seen, the hiking trails "Kings Throne" and the "Auriol Trail" are a must. The Auriol Trail is one of Kluane's cut trails, which starts in spruce and aspen forest and branches into a loop after 2 km. The trail climbs up to the sub-alpine where we enjoy soon a scenic view of Haines Junction and the surrounding area. We cross a few creeks and reach the peaks of the Auriol Range. Back at the cabins we enjoy a delicious dinner and relax by the warmth of the campfire. |
|
| 04 |
| Today we drive to Haines Pass where we soon find ourselves above timberline. We pass the Dezadeash Lake - translated as "Lake of the Big Winds" which parallels the highway for 9 miles and follow the road through blooming tundra where we have a good chance to see grizzly bears looking for roots. We take small side trips and stops to stretch our legs and enjoy the stunning scenery with its overflowing nature and wildlife. On the way we visit Klukshu - a traditional native summer fishing camp with great photo opportunities. |
|
| 05 |
| After a one-hour drive we reach Kluane Lake, the biggest lake in the Yukon Territory. We stop at Sheep Mountain Visitor Center go for an afternoon hiking trip to one of Kluane's glaciers. We follow the Slims East Trail where we soon reach the habitat of the Dall Sheep and have the opportunity to watch them in their natural surrounding. After passing the red stones of “Red Castle Ridge” we have climbed the top of Sheep Mountain and enjoy gorgeous views of glacier blue Kluane Lake. |
|
| 06 |
| After breakfast we drive to Haines Junction and visit the interesting information center with slide shows, excellent interpretive programs about Kluane's Flora and Fauna and a viewing telescope to observe the Dall Sheep's winter range. We have the opportunity to go horseback riding along the St. Elias Mountains (also suitable for beginners) or take a flightseeing trip into Kluane National Park, featuring Canada's highest mountains and some of the most extensive icefields outside the polar region. Adventurous minded can take a whitewater rafting trip on the Tatshenshini River or simply try your luck fishing in Kathleen Lake. |
|
| 07 |
| Not far from our cabins we visit today a sled dog kennel with over 100 well-trained Husky’s where we learn about the life, raising and training the dogs. They are true athletes. We see training rides with a dog team on a stripped down car chassis or a 4 wheeler. In the afternoon we enjoy a picnic on the shores of a beautiful mountain lake before we head back to Whitehorse and stay for the night. |
